Brewery
our in-house brewery
The beer
At LIDO Senftenberg, there is a 10-hectoliter plant from the Kaspar Schulz company in Bamberg. State-of-the-art and computer-controlled, it ensures consistent quality of the beers produced.
At present we produce:
– Senftenberger Pils – a typical North German pilsner with a pronounced hop character and light color
– Senftenberger Dunkel – a brown beer without added colorants, which gets its color solely from the malts used. Despite a clearly noticeable malty body, a slight hop note can be detected in the finish.
– Roter Friedrich – a light naturally cloudy Hefeweizen with the pronounced fruit aromas of banana.

Regional brewing tradition
History
The long brewing tradition in the region ended with the closure of the last Senftenberg brewery in 1953.
A revival of this tradition was achieved with the start-up of the brewery “LIDO Senftenberg” in 2008. The first brew was made in the middle of October 2008.
It takes about 8 hours to produce the so-called wort, which is mixed with special ale yeast and becomes a virgin beer within a week. After a 4-week maturing period in the storage tanks, this beer is then ready to drink.
The principle of beer production has not changed, but the equipment has. At LIDO Senftenberg, there is a 10-hectoliter plant from the Kaspar Schulz company in Bamberg. State-of-the-art and computer-controlled, it ensures the consistent quality of the beers produced.
